Carbonless refers to paper with a special coating on the top and bottom of each page which reacts to a pressure of a pen. 

Sets of 2 or 3 pages are glued together in to one pad. One copy of set can be handed to the client and one copy can be kept for you. 

The top page is always white, the copy can be yellow, pink, or blue. 

NCR Pads are usually comprised of 50 sets of paper, glued along the top with a cardboard backing and available with or without black numbering.
